| NewsAshcroft speaks at Knox Following the deaths of 3,000 people in the attacks on September 11, 2001, "prevention became our goal," said former U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft, in a lecture April 22 at Knox College. The Justice Department, he said, changed from a "retrospective effort to recreate the past and adjudicate innocence or guilt... to a prospective effort to anticipate the future... to find out about things that you can't allow to happen again."
Residency by dance group AMEBA, an acrobatic and aerial dance company, will present two workshops and a public performance during an upcoming residency at Knox, April 27 through May 2.
Trustee Raymond A. Charles, 1919-2008 Raymond A. Charles, a Life Trustee of Knox College, died April 10 in New Jersey. He was 89. Charles had a successful career as a senior executive with Prudential Insurance in New York City, and retired as a managing director of Lehman Brothers. He was a member of the Knox College Board of Trustees since 1966.
